They did their final-year internship at Voyage Privé and learned a lot. At the end of this experience, in search of new horizons, they chose to start their professional career in France or abroad. Yet, a few months or years later, they are back at Voyage Privé with a burning desire to continue this exciting adventure with us.

Meet Victoire, International Business Developer

When did you intern with us and what did you do?

At the time I was in my 4th year at the ESCCA School of Management. I joined in 2016 in the Remote team as an International Business Developer. I did a lot of things, it was very varied: I dealt with purchasing where I negotiated domestic products for the Belgian and Swiss sites. I did marketing where I had to find acquisition partners (email and display) and I did quite a few weekly and monthly reports (financial and acquisition) to quantify my activity and keep track of my figures. I also helped launch the website in the Netherlands by doing market research. Voyage Privé launched in that country at the end of my internship.

What memories do you have of your internship?

I really enjoyed my internship because the assignments were very varied and I learned a lot from the other departments in the firm. I worked on many diverse subjects and in a small international Remote team with major growth challenges, I had a lot of autonomy. It was the very beginning of Remote at Voyage Privé !

I also have fond memories of the atmosphere in the company and the fact that the team was made up of people of different nationalities.

What did you do next?

I finished my final year at ESSCA, then I worked for one and a half years in Paris in a food tech company that delivered lunchtime meals to offices. I was City Manager. Basically, I took care of opening up and developing that company in the southern region of Paris. It was a great experience, very ‘intrapreneurial’. I did a Masters in ‘entrepreneurship’ so it really was what I was looking for. I was on my own when the business started, then 3 people joined me and there were 12 of us in the end.

The experience was very cool but it wasn’t perfect; I wanted to leave the Paris region and return to the PACA region! I’d always kept in touch with colleagues from Voyage Privé and at the back of my mind I always thought I’d like to return. At exactly the same time as my contract ended at the company, Voyage Privé contacted me again! Superb timing !

What made you come back to us?

I’m now International Business Developer, in charge of the 4 Remote countries (Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands). The idea is to grow those countries that have major growth challenges.

It was really the professional opportunity that made me decide. The job I was offered appealed greatly to me. It was a challenge to return to this Remote team, which had doubled in size. New countries had been opened and I work in all those markets. It’s a very cross-functional position in contact with all the teams in the company to develop the project. It’s so stimulating!

Where do you see yourself in 2, 5 or 10 years?

Anything can happen, but in 2 or 5 years, I see myself growing into a management post at Voyage Privé and potentially Remote, because I like the cross-functionality of this team.

And in 10 years’ time? I’ve always wanted to start my own business. I want to take my time to do things right and find the right partner to build a project that has meaning!
